Look, when I started "remastering" all of the images here, I was conscious of the fact that societal norms are never static, and that some of the jokes here didn't really stand the test of time. Should I honestly preserve the mistakes of the past, or should I editorialise based on standards that 2006 Josh had no access to?
For the most part, I've kept things as they were, but in one or two places the past... just didn't seem worth preserving. This is one of them.
To be 100% honest, my criteria for whether a problematic joke should remain is less about how offensive they may be to today's sensibilities, and more about how funny they actually are. In the case of this one, which was, to be honest, offensive and not actually that great of a joke, I think we're better off pretending it never existed.

I got nothing on the picture but I think a more detailed disclaimer would have been in order:
"No drunken sailors / homeless persons, humpbacked business sorts, pages, or altar boys were harmed during the drawing of this instructional illustration."
Billy "Sniffer" Jenkinson (The Wizard Of The Wing) was so good he would turn up from his day job as a jobbing builder and didn't even bother to get changed.
Complacency was his undoing though. He bet his team-mates that he could play a whole game without letting his pipe go out. The opposition got wind of this and spiked his rough shag with hallucinatory substances.
...and I woke up in a bathtub full of ice with stitches down my sides and a note saying "get to the hospital fast, we've stolen your kidneys using this simple 2 step process (figure 1a)"...

Yeah, I saw that too. I'm not sure how you'd do that -- "The Israel/Palestine conflict appears to be intractable and is resulting in many innocent deaths!! Right, now administer CPR..."
