Reader Mail #6

Fua and Jenny, the time-traveling lesbians, plucked baby Moses from the river. 'Right,' said Jenny. 'This religion is going to see some changes...'

Yeah, I still do this from time to time. Today's caption courtesy Apathy Jack.

Reader Mail #5

“Pappa, Van Helsing has the situation under control, put the gun down. It’s just a snake.” “A snake that casts no shadow young Etanwu?” “My god Pappa you’re right! Erm… what does that make it then?” “Probably some sort of vampire snake!” “I thought that was reflections?” “Err, yes... Shadows and reflections! Actually now you mention it, I’m… oh bugger, it’s bitten him. Go and get his wallet Etanwu, we must purchase broadband and investigate this further.”

Been a while since I did one of these -- this one was submitted by "Anonymous", 22 September 2006. They always seem to be from “Anonymous”, don’t they? Maybe it’s only by abandoning all sense of self and personal aggrandisement that true comedy genius can be achieved. Something to think about.

Submitted by someone calling himself MrPerson, 1 April 2006:

There were so many things in the soil. Josie knew it, because she heard them screaming all the time. She just had to shut them up.

"Time to shave my balls."

It just makes me laugh. Don't fucking judge me.

Reader Mail #2

Mary's elephant costume was not up to the standard of her friend Jenny's horse costume.

Submitted by the generically named Anonymous, 27 May 2006.

An imaginative caption that actually fits the picture without making the obvious joke. I think we can put the equine love to bed to rest for good now.

Oh, and a word on Anonymous comments -- no-one's stopping you, but it's always nice to see a name attached, you know? If you select the "Other" option instead of "Anonymous" when posting a comment, you can enter your name and it even lets you provide a link to your own website (I'm looking at you, Hewligan).

Reader Mail #1

Back when I started, I recall threatening to use reader-submitted captions that took my liking. Lest it be said that I don't make good on my threats, I present this offering submitted by one Stefan Jones back in April:

“Luka? She lives on the second floor.”

At the time I was leery of gratuitous pop culture references, wondering what it said about my levels of creativity. Since I'm right now generating material from someone else's caption adorning someone else's illustration, fuck it.
